Auto Insurance Claims Guide

IN CASE OF LOSS , YOU SHOULD :

• Keep calm.
• Check to see if anyone is injured.
• If there is any personal accident, immediately seek assistance. You may call 115 for ambulance or 113 for police assistance. Do not remove the vehicles unless absolutely necessary to rescue or extricate injured person.
• Contact traffic police or local authority and follow their instruction. Obtain Traffic Accident Report Police report from those authorities.
• If you have a camera, take photographs of accident scene and damaged vehicle.
• Exchange information and particular with the other parties involved:
  
  • Vehicle registration number; Plate number; Make; Model; Color of the vehicle
  • Name/ address / contact number / ID number of the driver
  • Insurance company of the other driver
  • Extent of damage to vehicle
• Do not admit liability or argue over who is at fault.

CLAIM PROCEDURE

Own damage:

* Claim reporting guideline

Send your car to one of our authorized workshops where you can also report your claim. Request a claim form at our authorized workshops and complete the form. The workshop will prepare an estimate of the cost of repair and liaise directly with Chartis.

* Survey

You should not allow the workshop to carry out any repair until after approval is given by Chartis. We will arrange your vehicle to be surveyed before repair authorization is given to the workshop

* Excess and wear and tear

Under the policy condition, you are required to pay an excess and depreciation of wear and tear, if applicable. You should pay those amounts directly to the workshop after your vehicle is repaired

* Documents need to be provided when you receive your repaired vehicle :

1.Vehicle Insurance Certificate
2.Police report
3.Photos of the accident ( if any )
4.Completed Loss Notice and Claim Form
5.Driver’s statement
6.Driving license of the authorized driver
7.ID card of the driver
8.Vehicle registration certificate
9.Circulation permission of the vehicle
10.Receipt and discharge

Third party liability claim, you should:

• Within 5 days from date of accident, you have to file the Loss Notice and Claim Form to Chartis Vietnam.
 

• Settled with third party within your scope of legal liability. Do not admit other liability, offer or payment to third party without our consent in writing
• Chartis Vietnam shall reimburse you to the limit of your policy the reasonable cost as stipulated by law or the expense which Chartis Vietnam had consented for you to settle with the third party.

2.Driver’s statement
3.Photos of the accident (if any )
4.Police report
5.Documents relating to vehicle and driver
6.Loss supporting documents:

Bodily injury: Medical report; Bill/ invoice, hospitalized invoice; Disability certificate; Death certificate ( in case of death )
Property damage: Survey report; Repair/ replacement invoice, documents to support reasonable and necessary expenses incurred to minimize the loss …

7.Claim receipt and discharge from third party
8.Other relevant documents (if any)...

Required claim document :
